ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

  1. PMA (Services) Ltd recognises that, whilst the buildings and civil engineering works produced by its construction activities will, it believes, enhance the quality of the built environment, the construction processes used have the potential to damage the rest of the environment.
  2. The Company will, therefore:
    1. Keep up to date and comply with all environmental legislative requirements, codes of practice and relevant technical advances.
    2. Keep up to date and comply with customers’ environmental requirements.
    3. Ensure that Environmental Opportunities are considered for tenders and contracts so that environmental improvements are identified and where possible implemented.
    4. Set objectives and targets (including, where practicable, quantitative targets) to demonstrate continual improvement in environmental performance and prevention of pollution.
    5. Monitor and review the set targets on an annual basis.
    6. Communicate this Policy to all members and staff of the Company and make it available to the public and other interested parties.
    7. Ensure that the Company commitment to the protection of the environment is transmitted to all suppliers/subcontractors, when supplying services or products.
    8. Provide information to sub-contractors and suppliers in order that they can contribute to the delivery of the Company’s environmental objectives.
    9. Identify staff responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of environmental management within the company.
  1. Implementation of this Environmental Policy will be the responsibility of the Managing Director. Detailed implementation will be the joint responsibility of the HS&E Staff and the Managers responsible for delivery of each individual project.
  2. Throughout all of PMA (Services) Ltd operations, including design, construction and office management, the Company will seek to maximise opportunities to:
    1. Influence clients and designers to improve the whole-life environmental performance of the construction projects in which the Company is involved, establishing energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions where practicable and appropriate.
    2. Reduce waste disposal to landfill and produce a Site Waste Management Plan for every project undertaken.
    3. Increase re-use and recycling of construction materials.
    4. Reduce polluting emissions.
    5. Reduce consumption of energy and water.
    6. Reduce impacts on flora, fauna and landscape and enhance nature conservation.
