PMA were engaged to carry out essential works on a Grade II curtilage listed stone archway in the South East of England.
The archway had unfortunately started to subside and lean, creating a health and safety risk to members of the public. In response, we have been working closely with the Local Conservation Officer to plan a careful approach that respects the historical significance of the structure.
Our work involved:
- Temporary shoring
- Carefully dismantling the archway stone by stone, with meticulous marking for re-installation
- Construction of a new strip foundation.
- Rebuilding the archway using original construction methods to preserve its heritage and structural integrity
We are committed to delivering high-quality, safe, and sustainable results while maintaining the beauty and history of this iconic feature.
